The Event
The 31st Annual Eden Prairie Foundation Ball was held Saturday, April 14 at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest. The Eden Prairie Foundation Ball is the Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser. This year, we acknowledged our “Best Small City in America” designation by Money magazine with the theme, “Eden Prairie – My kind of Town.” This theme celebrated how we feel about the great place we call home. The purpose of the Ball is twofold – to raise funds for twice yearly grants given to non-profits and community organizations and a yearly celebration of fellowship that brings together donors – businesses and individuals, sponsors, grant recipients, families and friends who care about the city where they live and work. Laura Hookom the Foundation’s Executive Director reflected, “I think of it as an evening of ‘fun with a purpose’. Dozens of volunteers put in hundreds of hours to make it happen. I am overwhelmed with gratitude”. Since its inception, the Foundation has given away more than $1.1 million to over 50 organizations.
